Styling Secrets: Sweater Weather

Hi Friends!

This one's a no-brainer, but sweaters are a staple for just about everyone in the fall and winter. However, I wanted to show you some fun ones, how to spruce them up, and which ones to pick out of the endless options to always look amazing!

My picks for sweaters are ones with cool cuts and fun designs while keeping the rest of the outfit more basic. And then for the opposite effect, for a more basic sweater, I still say picking ones with a little detail but then making the rest of the outfit pop. Either way, balance and comfort is key.

Here are a few outfits showing exactly what I mean:

This sweater from Nordstrom Rack is one of my favorites, I love the long back and shorter front which makes it super easy to tuck into high-waisted pants, and adds an extra flare than a normal grey sweater would have. To keep with the earth tones I added these olive green joggers from Nordstrom Rack as well, which made a really cool silhouette with the sweater. For accessories I added my glasses from Eye Buy Direct, and long silver stone necklace form Henri Bendel.

This type of sweater/cardigan is great because there are so many different ways to wear it and it looks like a completely different outfit open or closed. The details and finish on this one from Nordstrom Rack is great because it is super high quality and looks expensive and put together. I kept the rest of the outfit more casual to let the sweater shine through. I added my ankle length jeans from Joe's with a white crop top from urban outfitters, that added a cool relaxed vibe. For accessories I have the same silver necklace and glasses as the previous outfit, and added my Top Shop espadrilles.

For this outfit, I took a plain black sweater from Forever 21 and elevated it. I specifically bought this one, because although it is plain, it had the little extra details of being distressed at the sleeves and bottom, which I thought added a really chic look. To dress up the sweater, I added this burnt orange skirt from Forever 21. To balance out the color, I added my black thigh high boots from Charollete Russe and my metallic fringe earrings from Henri Bendel to pull whole chic and effortless look together.

And with that, I hope you got some outfit inspiration on how to take your staple sweaters that you already own, and make them like new again!

Until next time,

Gurbani
