Getting Ready Efficiently

Getting Ready Efficiently

Hi Friends!

Today's post is a little different from my normal styling ones. Today I wanted to talk about 4 ways to make getting ready easy! I know some people hate all the time it takes to get dolled up and would rather use their time elsewhere, so this post is for you!

1. Eyelash Extensions

Getting eyelash extensions is a hefty investment initially, but it honestly does make getting ready so much easier. Ever since I got them I tend to skip out on doing eyeshadow and eyeliner which saves me a ton of time in my daily routine. However, just be cautious if you do decide to splurge, and make sure you take proper care of your lashes! I get mine at The Lash Lounge which is an amazing company all throughout the nation that customizes the perfect set of lashes for you. I will warn you though, that if you do decide to do a full face of makeup, eyeliner and eyeshadow may be a little adjustment because you'd have to learn to put it on in a new way! Here are the before and after's of my first time:

2. Utilize services such as the Drybar!

Drybar is a company I'm sure you've all heard of and they are truly great if you hate doing your own hair. Go get a blowout and use this time as relaxation so you don't have to spend time washing your hair, drying your hair, or styling it for the next few days. Services like this make life very easy to get ready because you can actually just wake up and go. Here are some pictures of the fabulous work they did on my extra long locks - for those of you who don't know, I've never cut my hair!

3. Plan your outfits

This sounds like a no-brainer, but I know we all get lazy to do this! But, at the start of each week, just come up with 5 outfits or outfit ideas. This way, during the week you're not spending 20 minutes destroying your closet trying to figure out what to wear. This is also a bonus because putting thought into your outfit definitely shows, and who doesn't feel more confident putting on a fabulous fit? This can be made easier through apps that help do this for you such as Closet Space!

4. Take care of your skin

When your skin looks good, makeup goes on better, you need less makeup, and you feel more confident. I recommend doing things such as cold sleeping masks at night to reduce puffiness and face masks 2-3 times a week. In addition to this, just drink a lot of water and get good sleep! I have a whole other blog post on skin-care if you want more tips, but I'm telling you that feeling good about your skin really does make getting ready easier! Less time you have to spend color correcting, covering blemishes, and just feeling overall more secure. As you all know, one of my favorites is the Kiel's midnight recovery serum.

And with that, I hope you got some tips on how to make getting ready more fun and less of a stressor!

Until next time,

Gurbani
