Styling Secrets: The Transparent Shirt

Hi Friends!

One of the biggest trends that has been on the scene for as long as I can remember is the see-through shirt. The issue is though, how do you wear these without being too risque? My go-to answer is pairing them with a cute bralette, third piece jacket, and high waisted pants to balance everything out.

1. With a transparent top, it is the perfect time to let those bralettes that usually get trapped underneath normal shirts to finally make their appearance. I recommend ones with fun colors or interesting details to make a statement.

2/3. My last two tips are kind of two in one: a little goes a long way. If you are doing a more revealing top, having balance with the rest of your outfit is key. So, throwing on a third piece jacket allows a little bit to peep through while adding an additional styling piece. With the high waisted pants, the same idea applies. I always like to make it a rule to pick one body part to show off and keep the rest covered. This keeps it classy, and that little extra thought into your outfit really does make a difference!

Here's a few outfits showing exactly what I mean!

This is one of my favorite outfits, because I get to combine an all black outfit with some color. This net top from nordstrom rack gave me the perfect opportunity to wear this neon yellow bralette from nordstrom as well in the fall time, without it being too much. The details on the top tie the colors in, and then the highwaistd relaxed fit pants from nordstrom rack add a cool sillouette.

For some added fun I added some fringe earrings in a different blue shade to stick with the color scheme.

This pastel bralette is one of my favorites, and it finally got to make an appearance through this especially see through top from forever 21. I thought the dainty detailing of the top went perfectly with the light color of the bralette, and to stick with the pink theme I added I third piece pink jacket from free people to cover up just a tad, along with my light wash high waisted ripped jeans from madewell.

For this outfit, I paired a nude transparent shirt from pacsun with a light pink sports bra from Calvin Klien. I added a third piece flowly pastel jacket from Anthropologie on top to add interest to the outfit because of the fit and details throughout. Keeping with the light colors, I added a pair of high-waisted white jeans from Joe's Jeans. For accessories, a light pink lipped with these nude stone earrings added the perfect touch while keeping in theme.

And with that, I hope you got some ideas for how to style the see-through shirt without feeling self conscious about showing too much!

Until next time,

Gurbani
